I am extremely proud of the building we have, but more importantly I am proud of the staff, friends and clients associated with our hospital. Since the summer of 1993 we have developed into a full service pet-care facility. Our goal was to keep the business model of the small hospital within the larger confines of our 12000 sq ft hospital. By doing so, clients can develop a relationship with an individual doctor /technician and not feel they are in a rotation of the first available doctor. This relationship makes familiarity with a case much easier, be it in the exam room or phone consultation.

Exam rooms are designed to accommodate large families and any special need the pet or client may have.

When entering our facility you will notice that pets are moved quickly out of the “waiting” room and into exam rooms, hospital, grooming, or boarding. This minimizes any perceived stress by either owner or pet. The exam rooms are designed to accommodate large families and any special need the pet or client may have. We also complete all financial transactions in that room. By doing so, the pet and client are once again put at ease by not having to “wait their turn” at the front desk. We diligently attempt to avoid any waiting. Your time is important to us.

Hospital Staff

Dr. Pfister

Dr. Pfister is a 1988 graduate of Auburn University. He and his family (Dr. Hurley and two daughters) presently reside in West Chester and have a farm in Morrow. A native of the Greater Cincinnati, area he attended The University of Kentucky upon graduation from high school in Northern Kentucky. “A jack of all trades and a master of none” his major interests are animals, outdoor activities, and travel. Usually combining all three interests in his favorite vacation destination...... ALASKA.

Dr. Hurley

Dr. Andrea Hurley is a 1989 graduate of Auburn University College of Veterinary Medicine having completed her undergraduate studies at Auburn as well. She is a native of Kentucky and moved to the Cincinnati area upon graduation. She practiced in Northern Kentucky for seven years before leaving to join her husband Dr. Rob Pfister at Pfister Animal Hospital. She has special interests in cytology and medicine.

Dr. Steinbeck

Dr. Nicole Steinbeck grew up in northeast Ohio and attended The Ohio State University for undergrad and veterinary school. During a break between degrees, she completed a summer internship at the Cincinnati Zoo and worked at Pfister Animal Hospital as a trained technician. Dr. Steinbeck completed an externship at The Animal Dental Center in Maryland during her senior year of vet school. After finishing her veterinary degree in 2004, she moved back the Cincinnati area to join Pfister Animal Hospital again. She most enjoys dentistry, soft tissue surgery and internal medicine. Dr. Steinbeck spends her free time reading, cross stitching and traveling. Her favorite vacation spot is New York City but she is also exploring the rest of the U.S. and eventually plans to visit Europe. She owns 3 cats and a dog.

Beth

Beth has graduated from the University of Cincinnati and has been working here since 2007. She is majoring in Biology and plans to apply to veterinary school. Her favorite aspect of working in a vet hospital is helping to educate clients about their pet's health. She enjoys general practice because there is something new to learn every day. Beth owns two dogs, 3 cats and likes to ski, play volleyball and tennis and watch football.

Aaron

Aaron started working in our boarding kennel in 2008 and is now an assistant in the hospital. He enjoys interacting with animals and learning new information as he works with more involved medical cases. Aaron is currently a student at Miami Universiy and would like to apply to veterinary school after graduation. He has two dogs and loves soccer.

Andrea

Andrea has been working with us since 2008. Her favorite part of her job is caring for patients and communicating with clients. She and her husband have 1 dog and and 3 cats. Andrea enjoys bowling and four-wheeling.

Ken

Ken was a stay at home dad for 9 years before joining the staff in 2005. Along with technical duties, Ken is our unofficial event planner and organizes our annual canoe trip and other staff field trips. He and his wife have 2 sons, 2 dogs and a cat. Some of his hobbies include camping and trivia.

Carla

Carla has worked at Pfister Animal Hospital since 2004 and feels the best part of her job is continuously learning new aspects of the veterinary field. She graduated with a History degree from Miami University. Carla is also known as "mom" and looks forward to teaching her daughter how to ride horses. Carla owns 3 dogs and 3 cats.

Irene

Irene has been with Pfister Animal Hospital since 2005 and has worked in the animal medical field for over 10 years. She has a special interest in birds, rabbits and other small mammals. Irene enjoys making jewelry and other crafts and sings in her church choir. She and her husband have a dog, 3 cats and birds.

Sharon

Sharon is a 1986 graduate of Raymond Walter Veterinary Technology program. She has worked with us since 2007. Her favorite part working here is interacting with both clients and their pets. Sharon and her husband have two daughters along with their own private zoo. Past time activities include walking her dogs in the park.

Paige

Paige is a recent graduate from Brown Mackie College of Cincinnati, with a degree in Veterinary Technology. She started working in the kennel in 2009 and since then has recently moved into the hospital. She enjoys playing tennis, camping, and reading in her spare time. Paige's goal is to return to school to obtain her Bachelor's in Biology and then apply to Veterinary School. She presently owns two dogs.
